LITHUANIAN

My grandparents fled from Lithuania during WWII and arrived in America a few years later. They found it important to pass down the culture and language to their children. Although my parents were born in America, they too found it important to pass down those traditions.  Lithuanian was my first language, I attended Saturday school, sang and danced in Lithuanian groups, I have dual citizenship, and continue to stay active in the Lithuanian community wherever I live.

BAKER

My mother is a wonderful cook but she hates to bake. With a sweet tooth like mine, baking is my therapy. I love the creativity, learning the science behind it, and taking photos of the final product (although more times than not, the end result is a bit of a flop). You could say I'm a baker enthusiast!

TEACHER

My sister, cousin, mother, and grandfather are/were teachers; you could say teaching is in the blood.  In my professional experience I have taught a variety of age groups and levels (from pre-K to adult learning).  However, the teaching doesn't end there! I have also been a tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, Zumba, and Lithuanian folk dance teacher.

DANCER

When I was a kid, during tap class, I would learn the steps with my fingers alongside with my feet.  When I am thinking about what to write/type next, my fingers will do an old tap routine.
